: : as part of my ira, i have invested in a managed account.
: : i originally put in 10,000. the investment went up to 13000
: : and i then added an additional 2000. how do i put this information
: : in fm? originally i entered one share worth 10000. as the value went up
: : i manually entered it (i.e, still one share but now worth 11000).
: : In summary, how do i enter the additional money that i put in,because
: : technically i still own only one share?
: : thanks for your help.

: Does this account have a share price? You would
: record two purchases, one for the initial 10,000, and then another purchase for the 2,000. As the share price changes, you would update this, and
: the value of your investment will change.

: Thanks,
: Mark

there is no share price to the managed account, only the total value.
so in my example above, the price and value are the same = 11000 before
the addition of new monies. when i go to "edit purchase", i go to"new"
purchase and put in the new money. but if i put in that i purchased 1
share worth 2000, fm assumes i now have 2 shares total worth 13000 each
= 26000, instead of 13000.i hope i'm not confusing you. thanks again.
