Thanks for the tip on handling spin offs. How about something on acquisitions, for example the pending SBC/Ameritech deal where a shareholder of Ameritech receives 1.316 shares of SBC. The cost base and return for the Ameritech investor should end up being reflected in the SBC shareholdings.
