: : I want to look and see what would have happened to my investments if I had sold or bought additional shares at some point in the past. How can I do this without messing up my "real" data?

: : I realize that I can input my "fake" data and then go back and remove it after I'm done playing with it, but is there another way to do this without having to remember which "fake" data I have to remove?

: : Thanks.

: There's an easy way to do this. Copy your "my_data" to another directory or to a floppy. Play with your hypothetical transactions, then after you're finished playing, copy your original "my_data" file back.

Thanks for the advice but I am hesitant to be constantly copying files back and forth. Can I create a "fake data" portfolio which contains the same investments as my real portfolio? This way I can play all I want with the fake portfolio without screwing up my real data. If this can be done, how do I do it?

Thanks
