Which "entries" do you want to know the date of? Prices, Transactions?

If you are memorizing a report in your portfolio, you can use "Options/
Report Preferences.../General" to control the floating of the end date,
and keeping the start date relative to the end date. If you float the
end date, the end report date will be set to the current date when the
report is created.

If you are trying to find the date of your last investment you could use
the Investment Transaction report type, or view your data with "Edit/All Data.."
and select the "Investments" data type. Use the "Prices" data type
to see the dates of your last recorded prices.
