Transfer Out Transaction Dialog

Use this dialog to record a transfer of shares out of this investment. Transfer Out transactions reduce your share balance without generating a taxable event (transfer out transactions are not displayed in the Capital Gain reports).

This dialog is available from the Edit / Transfer Out... menu command under the Graphs window. It is also available at Edit / Investment Data / Transfer Out... in the Portfolio Editor window, or by right clicking on any investment and choosing the Investment Data / Transfer Out... popup menu command. The following fields are contained in this dialog:

Transferred Out:
Date	The date the shares were transferred out of the investment
Shares	The quantity of shares transferred
Market Value	The value of the transferred shares
Information On Transferred Shares:
OOP Cost Basis	The amount the out of pocket (OOP) cost basis decreases due to these shares being transferred out. This value is affected by the global preference on how to determine OOP basis for transferred shares. When using the original OOP cost this figure is automatically determined by Fund Manager from the OOP cost basis of these same shares when they were originally acquired. When using the market value to determine the OOP cost, the market value of these transferred shares determines this figure.
Tax Basis	Displays the short, medium, and long term tax cost basis transferred out with these shares for each of the different accounting methods. Note on Wash Sales: If wash sale rules are being used this will be stated in this section. When using wash sale rules, any disallowed losses will be added into the basis if any of the transferred out shares were replacement shares. See wash sales for more information.
