Refresh or Close command line option

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

I configured the schtasks (Win 7, the newer, much updated replacement for the limited AT scheduling command line utility), to have Fund Manager retrieve quotes twice a day on weekdays.
This works well. But, if an instance of Fund Manager is already open, which is often the case, this open instance of Fund Manager is not automatically updated: there is apparently no trigger forcing the open instance to reread the new quote values from the updated DAT files: the prices in the Data Register do not show the new values, and the graphs, even if reopened, do not show the latest quotes.

An easy manual fix is to Close Portfolio/Open Portfolio. A dirty automated solution would be to kill the Fund Manager process, and re-launch it, but I am wary of corruption and loss of updates in the open instance.
A /R command-line option (refresh) would be cool to somehow neatly save/close/reopen FM. Unless Mark has another trick in his bag?

Hi CeSinge,

Thanks for the idea/feedback. In general it isn't good to access the same set of data files with multiple copies of Fund Manager. As you point out, changes to the files aren't automatically read in, and whichever copy of Fund Manager saves last will have it's changes saved. If you usually leave open a copy of Fund Manager, you could instead use the feature that automatically retrieves prices periodically. This is under "Options / Internet Settings... / Automatic Retrieve / Frequency...".
Thanks,
Mark
