Upgrade (to v11) glitch

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby fmuser » Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:24 pm

I had installed the beta of v11 into a different directory than my prior (v7) version. I did some directory renaming before installing the new v11 product. Must have messed something up because I get this error message when exiting v11, during "Auto backup in progress..."

Failed to open C:\Program Files\Fund Manager\Autoback\Active_1.fmb for writing

Can you help me recover?

Hi fmuser,

When exiting, Fund Manager can store an automatic backup. You control the location and frequency of these backups. Fund Manager is attempting to store a backup at that location. Regular programs can no longer write into C:\Program Files anymore, so you should choose a different folder for your backups. The new default location for this is:

My Documents \ Fund Manager \ Autoback

but you can store them anywhere you have write access to. To adjust this, go into Fund Manager and select "Options / General Preferences... / Data" and browse to the folder where you want your backups stored.
Thanks,
Mark
