Hierarchy Preservation.

Hi Mark,

I realize that version 11 is still in beta, but I'd like to make a suggestion for future releases:

Can users be given an option to save the portfolio editor hierarchy on exit, so that the same hierarchy is displayed on a future launch? Or, even better, instead of saving the last view before closing, allow me to specify what view I wish to see when I first open FM (regardless of what my last view was).

I prefer the view of my portfolio editor to look a certain way, and I find myself clicking quite a few times to get it that way after opening, especially if the nests are deep. Would be great if it opened "my way" each time.

Thanks for the idea/feedback. Currently, the only thing about the hierarchy display that is remembered is the selected sub-portfolio. That same sub-portfolio is re-selected, so any hierarchy necessary to display it is opened up, and everything else starts off closed. Whatever sub-portfolio is selected at the time your portfolio file (*.mm4) is saved is what is stored/recalled. I can see it being nice to have the portfolio file remember the open/closed state of every sub-portfolio in your whole hierarchy.

The number of clicks needed for my "desired view" can be time consuming if the hierarchy is deeply nested (as mine is), with several sub-portfolios that I wish to compare. Or when opening Fund Manager several times a day (as I do).

By the way, I really like the linked accounts feature in 11 beta. It gives me, at a glance, a completely different view of my portfolio which eliminates the need to run a custom report. A real time saver.
