How do I handle this?
I retrieve transactions for my kids ESA account from Scottrade. Scottrade allows you to download all the transactions (entire account history). In my case they begin in 2004 with a transfer in of 90 shares of AMD which I sold shortly after. When I look at my account history at Scottrade the initial 90 shares of AMD are listed as "transfer in". When I download the transaction they appear in Fund Manager as a "Purchase" of 90 shares costing $0. This messes up the portfolio performance calculations. I can manually go and put a share price on the transaction (share price as of the transaction date) and "fix" the problem, but then the next time I retrieve the transactions on this account the 90 shares of AMD appear as a new transaction/purchase and I either have to uncheck the transaction and not import it or I can change the transaction import date range, both of which are easy, but are a pain to do repetitively. I do not seem to be permanently able to ignore this transaction once I fix it.
Can a transaction be fixed and have FM ignore future transactions of the "fixed" type? Is there another better solution?
