saving a different name and extension

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Trevor » Tue Aug 11, 2009 11:19 am

I'm having a problem saving data. When I save a file originally as one extension, for some reason it changes extension types on me.
Also, my boss and I can access the same Fund Manager folder and we want to keep it that way.
When he saves his data, it saves with a (Pat) attached to the name. When I save, it saves with a (Trevor1) attached to the name. The problem there is that the data is being duplicated and we can both see our names added to the program file. Please assist.

Hi Trevor,

I think we discussed this over the phone before, right?

Fund Manager does not modify the filenames. When you open a portfolio, you open the associated investment files. These same files are saved with their original (un-modified) filenames when you save. The filenames are not modified to include your name. I suspect you have something else going on, like a syncing program or something, but Fund Manager doesn't ever modify the investment filenames, unless you specifically do a "File / Save Investment As...".
Thanks,
Mark
