Bug: copy and paste distributions

Use Data Register to enter a new distribution record by copying and pasting the previous distribution record. The new distribution is not added to the default cash account. The new distribution may or may not be reflected in the default cash account when I change the date of the new distribution.

Hi moonlighter,
I don't think this is a bug, but a feature you've previously turned off. When you paste transactions there is an optional dialog box that comes up asking if you want to record the corresponding cash transactions or not. In that dialog box you can tell it to not display itself anymore. If you're not getting that prompt, then you can turn it back on under "Options / General Preferences... / Other / Prompt Before Pasting Prices/Transactions".
I stand corrected, no bug. I don't recall turning that option off but I turned it on and it's working as expected when I paste the distribution transaction. Thanks!

I am still having the problem where cash distributions are occasionally not added to the default cash account. Each time this happens I need to enter a Buy transaction in my cash account so the FM cash balance matches my cash balance reported by my broker. It can happen copying and pasting the distribution or entering it manually. Are there any other settings that are causing this?

Do you have a default cash account assigned? See the "Portfolio Properties..." dialog to verify you have a default cash account assigned. Besides this, there are no options for recording a default cash transaction, except the one previously discussed related to pasting transactions. If you're still having problems, please let me know if you can reproduce a problem. For example, if you go enter a distribution manually, does the cash transaction show up?
