Restore

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Merry Christmas, Mark.

I have two questions on this topic:

1. Is there any way to sort the backup list by investment? I have 29 sub-portfolios holding the same stock. I have had occasion to restore a particular stock and finding ABC18 for example is tedious without a sort ability. Clicking on the appropriate column does nothing. In most windows programs that action will sort by that field.

2. Is there a way to restore a sub-portfolio? There have also been occasions when that was necessary but I see no way to do that. It appears the entire master portfolio has to be restored.

Hi Mike,

Hope you had a nice Christmas.

Unfortunately, neither of these is an option currently. You can't sort the list in the restore dialog, nor can you only restore a single sub-portfolio. There is a work-around for the 2nd limitation though. You could restore everything to a new folder (not overwriting your original data). Open up this restored copy, and in the Portfolio Editor, select the sub-portfolio you want to restore, and use copy/paste in the Portfolio Editor to transfer that sub-portfolio from this portfolio into your desired one. For some help on using the Portfolio Editor, read through this tutorial:
