General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Rajatsetiya » Sun Oct 05, 2014 11:18 pm

Hi Mark,

I'm currently using the trial version and would soon want to migrate to paid personal version after the initial free logins expire. I just wanted to know if ever my computer crashes or i want to access it from a new machine that i buy, what would be the way to retrieve my portfolio there. the reason I ask this is because at this moment there are no login credentials that the software asks, which might change once i become a paid user.

Thanks
rajat

P.S. sorry for a rather naive question.

Hi rajat,

Yes, you can transfer your data to a new computer. With Fund Manager, you store your data on your local drive, or any drive you have write permission to. Your data is not stored on our servers, you have control over your data. If you want to move to a new computer, you just do a "File / Backup..." on your source computer, take that file over to your new computer, and do a "File / Restore...". We have some more specific instructions for this here:

Thanks,
Mark
