: Mark, thanks. I bought it during 2003 and the first part of 2004. Shouldn't the 16000+ shares show up as part of my portfolio? It seems like everything else is correct and after going through a lot of buy/sell transactions of all the stocks, comes up with the right numbers of shares now still Open. All except the one stock. Thanks.

Hi Michael,

When you retrieve from a broker (through the OFX server), you are downloading "transactions", not "positions". Your current share balance is determined by the sum of all your transactions, it is not specified by the server. It sounds like in this case it just happens that these initial purchase transactions are no longer on the server. You can just manually record these particular purchases to get your share balance correct.

Thanks,
Mark
