: Dear Mark,

: How can I back up my investment properties, such as asset goal and investment type? I recently did a reformat of my hard drive and when I installed Fund Manager 4.7, and opened my backup of the investment files, all the settings for 300 securities were lost. Does File-Backup... do the trick?

: Clarke

Hi Clarke,
Your investment properties are memorized with the investment file itself
(*.dat). This means which goal/type and the percentages. The category
labels themselves are stored in the registry. These are FM wide settings.

If you use "regedit" and go to the registry you will see:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\Investment Goal Labels

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\Asset Type Labels

This is where the names you've customized under "Options/Category Labels"
are stored. You can either use this dialog to re-enter the names you
want, or if you have your old registry you can replace the values in
the above mentioned registry slots.

Thanks,
Mark
