: Since I have upgraded to your latest edition of Fund Manager I have noticed that when I log on the screen goes through many many gyrations before it stops and becomes usuable. Today it took 2 minutes and 45 seconds as I timed it. The previous version that I had came up immediately. What is all of this busy work and what is it doing for me now that the older version didn't do?

Starting with Fund Manger 4.0 portfolios can now remember which
reports to create when opening a portfolio. You can turn this
feature on/off under a reports menu by selecting "Options/Report
Preferences.../General" and turning on/off "Portfolios Store and
Recall Reports".

It sounds like you have many open reports stored, and upon opening your
portfolio they are all being created. You can see this by looking under
the "Window" menu. You can close all reports and re-save your portfolio,
or turn this feature off, whichever you prefer.

Thanks,
Mark
