Message board and Webnews Error

Hi Mark,

when trying to access "webnews" or "post a question on Fund manager message board" i get the following error: Other shellexecute error: 5 -. Might you have a solution for this ? Am running 11.4.

Hi Steve,

With these commands Fund Manager is using your Windows shell to open a website URL. The error message you're getting indicates there is some permission problem. Somehow your shell is not configured correctly to allow opening of URLs. To test this, go to "Start / Run..." and where it says "Open:" type in a URL, like:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com

and then press OK. If your shell is configured properly it should open this URL in your default web browser.

well, it doesn't open and i have no idea to configure that.. Can you help?

Hi Steve,

What version of Windows are you running?

If you're running Windows 7, check under "Control Panel / Default Programs / Set Associations". You should have a long list of associated "Extensions" and "Protocols". Under the "Protocols" section, you should have a protocol for "HTTP" and it should be set to a valid web browser that you have installed on your system.

Am running windows 7, and associating .html files to internet explorer solves the problem . Thank you for the assistance.
