Mark: At the end of a viewing session, I click the two save icons near the upper left end above the portfolio and graph presentation. What is the relationship of these two icons and the clicking of FILE>BACKUP>(ENTER FILE TO BE USED FOR BACKUP)>SAVE. (I.E.) If I were to need to "Restore" something, would having clicked the two little icons have yielded a file I can later find and recall for a FILE>RESTORE action. Best regards, H. C. Hello Chuck,

The save icons are saving your investment (*.dat) and portfolio (*.mm4) files. These are your active files, and not creating a "backup" that you can later restore. There is an automatic backup feature, which you can adjust the settings for under "Options / General Preferences... / Data". The backups have the extension of *.fmb, and can be used later to restore if necessary. You can also manually create a backup at any time yourself by using "File / Backup...".
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark:
Since I have had two or three times that BACKUP files have saved me from loosing a lot of time and data, I have manually used it often. The icons seemed to be for saving this sessions for the next session; but, I needed to get a little info about them. I will look into automatic BACKUP's now!! Best regards and Thanks!!!
