User-defined fields and equations in beta 11

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

Hi Mark,

I'm trying the "user-defined fields" and "equations" in beta 11. I have a problem and a request:

- I'm not able to find the % Gain-end field: actually, I see two fields with the same name "Gain_end", the first under the "percentage fields" group, and the second under the "Value fields" group: both of them return the same value (gain end value) but NOT the percentage gain.

- I really would like to have also the highest price between the buy date and the todays date. BWT, this is the only reason I have to still use my old excel spreadsheet, along with FM. Please, help me to throw it away... :-)

Thanks for your great support.

Alessandro.

Hi Alessandro,

Thanks for pointing out the problem with the missing %Gain-end field. This will be fixed for the next release.

Which "buy date" are you looking at? You can have multiple buy dates within an investment. If you only have 1 buy, or want the maximum just from the latest purchase date up through the ending report date, you can define yourself a custom field, and use this equation:

MAX(Last_buy, ENDDAYS(), End_NAV, 0)

which will find the highest closing price between the date of your last purchase and the ending report date.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I do prefer to have an investment for each lot: the last buy date is what I need. Your equation works great for me; I would have had to find it out by my self...

Thanks a lot for your help. Great software.

Hi Alessandro,

Fund Manager 11 Beta 4 is now available, and includes this fix for the user-defined field names.
