Two Positions in Same Investment in Two Sub-portfolios

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Think you've answered this somewhere but could not find it ...

Client has two positions in same investment in two sub-portfolios. How do you recommend handling this in FM?

I know two separate investments could be set up with distinct .dat files but I am interested in having all of her exposure to this investment appear in one graph and/or one line in reports.

Thanks.

Hi Septaj,

You would want 2 investment files, so the transaction history is recorded separately for each account.

When reporting, you can "List By: Symbol", and it will combine all investments of the same symbol onto a single line item. If they are in two separate sub-portfolios, you could report on the parent sub-portfolio and not have on the option to sub-total by sub-portfolio.
Thanks,
Mark
