Custom Report for ROI of investments between dates

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby everner » Tue Sep 02, 2025 6:31 pm

I am trying to create a custom report for all portfolio investments, giving ROI between start and end of owned. Most work, but some produce N.A. I have attached a report with transactions for the first N.A. investment.
Thanks

Hi Ed,

From within the report window select "Help / Logs / Report Calculation..." and you should get some reasons for the N/A values.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark

The Yield Interpolation Range was set require no gaps. Changing that fixed most N.A. instances. The remaining instances were REPIX, FEMKX, UMESX, UJPIX, and TREMX, all had zero ending prices. I create my local file with all the prices I have. The latest one has about 1.1 million prices for about 281 investments. They all have the price for the day that shows a zero price. I usually retrieve Prices (Crtl+I), but tried also Historical Prices (Ctrl+J). I can upload the prices file if you want, it is about 23MB.
Thanks,

Hi Ed,

Are you trying to understand why there are some investments remaining with N/A for yields? What does the log file say? No need to upload anything at this point.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark
I realized overnight that you are using IRR, which only depends on cash flows, which are contained in tractions. I will try that first. PS: It worked. I didn't have good records for 2006 when I converted to Fund Manager, so ended up using closing price for those.
