Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Hi Mark,

I am intermittently getting the following error after retrieving prices. I do not believe it is occurring with transaction retrieve

Error:20073067:BIO routines:CONN_STATE:connect error

It started happening over the last month or so. I also upgraded to the most recent version of the program in the timeframe; not sure if that is related.

Hi Jason,

Can you narrow it down to a specific quote server?
Thanks,
Mark

Yes. I am using Yahoo and Yahoo (Historical). I have used both for years and this is the first time encountering the error.

Hi Jason,

Do you maybe have an email alert set? This sounds like an error that might happen when your email settings aren't matching the mail server's requirements. Under "Options / Alerts...", do you have "Send Email Notification To:" turned on? If so, either turn it off, or check your settings under "Configure..." and verify they are working with the "Test" button.

I'm guessing that maybe when you retrieve prices, sometimes an alert is triggered, and thus the cause of the seemingly intermittent error messages.
Thanks,
Mark

You are correct Mark, email alerts are set up. It is odd since I am not getting the on screen alert and sometimes I get the on screen alert without the error message.

I think I know what the issue is. Can you confirm what version of SSL is being used by Fund Manager?

Hi Jason,

I don't know the SSL version used... There is also TLS available if your mail server requires that.
Thanks,
Mark
