Increase size of memo fields

Is it possible to increase the size of the memo fields for transactions, account properties, etc?

Keep running out of space to properly document the transactions, especially those that are 'work-around' of system limitation

Typically need to have up to 3-4 sentences for a transaction and up to 200 words for account properties

Hi marathon,

You can record unlimited notes in the memo field of any sub-portfolio's properties. The memos associated with transactions are fixed to a maximum length (59 characters). You can record an unlimited number of "Note" transactions in an investment. See the "Notes" data type in the Data Register. Each note is limited to 254 characters. Each note has an associated date, so you could record them on the same date as your transactions you are documenting.

Its not unlimited in the memo for portfolio properties though it gives that impression.

Was typing into the box and the window scrolled down. Came back to check a few days later and all of the bottom portion was truncated.

The transaction memo needs to be longer to fully capture the work-around since what is actually only one transaction has to be split into a few transactions

Hi marathon,

The portfolio memo should be unlimited. What might be causing confusion is there isn't a displayed vertical scrollbar in that memo box. If you put your cursor in there, and use the down arrow on your keyboard, you can scroll down that way. If you can reproduce a problem where not all of your memo is stored/recalled properly please let me know. It should store an unlimited amount of text.
