Date/Time Format

Mark,

I don't know if this has been brought up before but I couldn't find a topic on the messages boards or a configuration setting in the program. Is there an option to set the program date format as YYYY.MM.DD, and if not, is that feasible as a feature going forward? Also, this may be overkill but would you consider an option of time stamps as HH:MM:SS (24 hour format) for those of us (or maybe just me) who want to enter detailed transaction info?

Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

There isn't a date format choice for YYYY.MM.DD, only MM/DD/YY and DD/MM/YY. We can consider adding this support.

For the time, are you looking to record the time of your trade?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I'm referring to the execution/trade time stamp. In the Data Register the columns could be "2014.12.31 14:31:00 COLUMN-3 COLUMN-4 etc.." with the option to have a dummy time stamp "xx:xx:xx" if the broker does not provide that information.

I second the request for adding YYYY.MM.DD or maybe YY.MM.DD as another date format option.
Thanks

I 'third' this request. :)

YYYY/MM/DD is the most sensible date format in use, as it alpha sorts properly, and has a "cleaner" look in columns as all data has the same length. As in February is "02", not "2".

Europeans prefer YYYY/DD/MM which (as a Euro born & raised individual) is just as stupid as the American M/D/YY, as it doesn't sort properly. But as long as you are fiddling under the hood, offering a more complete range of date support makes sense. See Excel, for example.

I use YYYY/MM/DD for everything in my life, and it drives me nuts to look at data in any other format.

Thanks!

I can confirm this will be available in the next major update...
Thanks,
