I have a terrible stock (FTRCQ) that was worth $0.110/share 8/7/20, $0.128/share on 11/9/20 and $0.560 today. The yields above the graph are showing as: 3M: 32,708.7, 6M: 2,423.0, 1Y: 0.0

The older yield periods appear correct.

I don't see any strange prices.

Hi marshg246,

Figure out the date range of the yield in question. So, for example, the 3M yield ends on the ending graph date, and starts 3 months prior to this. What is the price on those 2 dates? Were there any transactions within this time period? Also, you can turn on yield logging to see what FM uses as the starting/ending values and if it saw any transactions in the period. Use "Options / General Preferences... / Yields / Log ROI Yield Calculations" (or TWR if that is the yield type you're calculating).
Thanks,
Mark

I gave all that in the initial message. Today the 3M yield is 45,777.5 - sure would be nice :D

Today's price per share is $0.60 to be up 45 thousand percent would be a little difficult!

Please send the snippet from the yield log file, showing this yield.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi marshg246,

Take a look at this one:

Code: Select all
***************************************
ROI Equation for investment "Frontier Communications Corp (New)": Yield Result (i) = 73379.08

Dates: 11/12/2020 - 2/11/2021
Interpolation Range Settings: Enforce Maximum Interpolation Range = OFF, Allow Interpolation Prior To Earliest Recorded Data = OFF, Interpolation Type = Step, Only Report ROI Yields When Item is Owned for Entire Yield Term = ON
Including Accrued Interest: ON
Including Account Fees: ON
Yield Period in Years: 1.000000
End_val + Dist(s) - Inv(s) - Beg_val = 0

174.000000 - 32.970000(1 + i)^0.252055 = 0

So, on 11/12/2020 it was worth $32.97. On 2/11/2021 it's value went up to $174. You have on the option to annualize yield terms less than one year, so this really big yield of 73379.08 is what would happen if you continued to earn at that rate for a full year, even though this is only a 3M yield term. By default, FM does not annualize yield terms less than 1 year, as this is the standard. If you turn off "Options / General Preferences... / Yields / Annualize Yields for Terms Less Than One Year" you will get a number probably closer to what you are expecting.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, I have no clue how that got turned on - I never change any of the options. An option to put all options to default would be nice. I've been using FM for a long time and never noticed one like this before. Of course, I don't usually choose crappy stocks that get delisted and resurrected in a different form!
