Hi Mark,
I plan to work on data scraping in order to import in Fund Manager some data currently not available on the current quote servers.
In this context, the "local file" quote server is a great addition, thanks for that.
May I suggest some additions to this functionality:
For this "local file" quote server, the ability to launch an external script (command / batch, powershell...) when a retrieve command is launched (manually or automatically) in Fund Manager.
This external script would allow to scrap / gather / refresh the data in the local file just before been retrieved in Fund Manager.
The processing workflow would be:
1) A retrieve is launched in Fund Manager for an (or some) investment()s with the "local file" quote server set (manual or automatic retrieve, current or historical price retrieve)
2) If specified (optional), an external user script is launched. This script would allow to scrap / gather / refresh the data in the local file.
Some parameters could be passed by Fund Manager to the script, in particular:
- Symbol(s) to retrieve
- Retrieve type (current or historical with the date range)
3) Fund Manager would wait for the end of the external script / a specific return code
4) Then Fund Manager would retrieve the prices from the local file.
Thanks.
