I realize FM wasn't written for family offices, but I have one request that would be very helpful, if implemented.
In my case fees are deducted quarterly, usually within the first week of the end of a quarter. My objective is to see actual vs expected fees.
I run the Management Fee report to know what fees to expect. However, I have to run a separate report -- Distribution Summary -- for a different time period, to know what was actually deducted. Would be nice if the Management Fee report did both. But it would have to overlap quarters. I'd like to know what fees to expect for a given time frame(last quarter, for example); and I'd like to see what what was actually charged for that period (in my case, the fee transactions occur about a week after the period ends).
