Hi,
Some suggestions again...
In Fund Manager there are drop-down lists to select investment(s) in many commands / dialogs. The investments are sorted in these lists alphabetically.
I had found laborious to find an investment among many in these lists. The reason is there can be a variety of investment types in a selected sub-portfolio: indexes, mutual funds, exchange rates, etc, and when all investments are mixed it's messy.
So I chose a workaround some years ago: to prefix each investment name depending of its type:
* cash
# index
#:relative strength
#.exchange rate
#-spread
#·yield
and no prefix for investable investments (ETF, mutual funds, stocks...)
This achieves the two goals I wanted:
- in the dropdown lists, investments are sorted by type (at least for the non investable investments), then by name. It's better organized and more handy to retrieve an investment.

- last but not least, in the right part of the Portfolio Editor the investments can now be displayed by type then by name, which I wanted too. Currently this is otherwise not possible to sort like this in the Porfolio Editor .

Cons: The display can look a little cumbersome, and the name of investments a little strange for other people when sharing (reports). Not very flexible too.
So, it would be nice:
- to have the ability to display the Investments in the drop-down lists grouped by Investment types then sorted by name.
For example: http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/201 ... h45-01.png
- same in the Portfolio Editor, grouping (headers) would be nice!
For example: http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/201 ... h32-02.png
If grouping/headers is not feasible/wanted for some reasons, at least the ability to sort by two criteria would do the trick. In this request: sort by investment type first then by investment name.
Thanks!
