Graph/Chart Notes?

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

I looked thru Help and some searching on the forum but didn't find that there is a means of attaching a note to points on a graph. So for example, if the market takes big up/down on a day, this will usually be reflected in your portfolio value, but looking back, you wouldn't necessarily be able to recall what happened on a day. But if you attached a note, you could see that there was a market event.
Obviously, there would have to be a limit on the number/size of any notes. Even if you couldn't attach a note to a single point on the chart, if there was a way to have a notepad with dates/notes, then you could correspond those with changes in portfolio values.
This could be done outside of FM in a number of ways but was looking for something internal to the program.
Any consideration of this or other past requests of this type?
Thank you.

Hi dbender54,

Notes are available at the investment level. You can create as many notes as you want, and each note is assigned a date. Notes can be displayed on investment based graphs as "Note markers". This type of functionality is not available for portfolio based graphs though. We can consider expanding it to cover these.

There are several ways to create an investment note:

From an investment based graph, right mouse click and choose "Note...".
From the Portfolio Editor, right click on an investment and choose "Investment Data / Note...".
In the Data Register choose "Notes" for the "Data Type" and then press "New...".
Thanks,
Mark

Why is it not (?) possible to attach a note marker to an overall portfolio chart?
