WIth the disclaimer that I am a new user of this software and don't fully understand all of its functionality, I don't seem to have the ability from the portfolio editor screen to determine if the gains on a stock or portfolio are short term or long term in nature. I am able to use the specific ID cost basis and current market value and have the total gain available, but I don't see any fields available that would delineate how many dollars of the gain is short term or long term based upon the holding period.
It would be very helpful to have two additional columns available that would provide aggregate dollars of unrealized short term gains and aggregate dollars of unrealized long term gains (for me using specific lot ID). The total of the two columns would equal total unrealized gains. That way, a user could quickly identify stocks with substantial dollars of long term capital gains and review if any of those positions should be close.
Taking it one step further, it would be helpful in the data register (clicking on the position in the portfolio editor screen) to have additional columns available so that the screen could be customized in a similar fashion to the portfolio editor screen. A user could then have lot basis gain/loss calculated on the data register screen rather than having to run a separate report in order to determine this information.
Thanks in advance for the consideration.
