Hi Mark,

Would you consider to add the option to calculate "duration"? It is very useful to analyse your bond portfolio.

Definition: a measure of the sensitivity of the price (the value of principal) of a fixed-income investment to a change in interest rates. Duration is expressed as a number of years. Rising interest rates mean falling bond prices, while declining interest rates mean rising bond prices. The bigger the duration number, the greater the interest-rate risk or reward for bond prices.

It is a common misconception among non-professional investors that bonds and bond funds are risk free. They are not. Investors need to be aware of two main risks that can affect a bond's investment value: credit risk (default) and interest rate risk (rate fluctuations). The duration indicator addresses the latter issue.

Hi marathon,

As you've probably noticed, I can't say if or when any particular feature will get added. We do keep a list of improvements (almost all of them are ideas from customers), and when developing new features we weigh all of them for a variety of factors to decide what to implement.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Silvan,

No update. Any new features like this wouldn't be included in the 2016 version, as new features are mostly only added to new major updates.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Silvan,

There won't be a major update for a while. We just released Fund Manager 2016 in October of 2015. I can't say for sure when the next major update will be, but a rough guide is probably 1.5 to 2 years from the last major update.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

You weren't able to add this into the 2018 release?

Hi Silvan,

Sorry, no. We have a long list of features we consider. Unfortunately we cannot implement all requests.
Thanks,
Mark
