Portfolio Editor - New Column

Mark,

In the Portfolio Editor you have a column title "%Change" which give the percent of the price change over a 24 hour period. I know the the update time can be modified taking into account the time zone changes.

This drives me a bit/very (your choice) batty since I'm dealing with stock exchanges in 4 different time zones: NY, London, Continental Europe, HK; and also different holiday schedules.

What would be nice to have would be something called %xxx that would just give the percentage change from what ever the last entered price was, independent of time or time zone conditions.

Any chance of that happening

Hi Richard,

Interesting idea, thanks for the feedback. I can see that being helpful, and will see about getting it added to a future update.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark

Essentially I only have 1 hour to be able to enter my data for the NYSE before the column resets.

The NYSE closes at 4:30 PM, Bloomberg updates round 4:50 PM (10:50 PM my time) and your column "%change" resets 1 hour 10 minutes later.

Anything you could do to expedite my suggestion would be appreciated.

Richard :D

Hi Richard,

I don't expect any new Portfolio Editor column choices to become available in the 2014 series. This is something we would look for in a major update. You can use the "%Gain-F (between) fields in a Custom report to get the percentage change in price on any date you want. This would give you a little more control, as you can specify the starting/ending dates of the report. For example, if you want the % change in price from 7/24 closing to 7/25, set the starting/ending report dates to both 7/25.
Thanks,
Mark
