Return of Capital

It would be nice if I could enter the return of capital adjustment at the end of each year. For some of my investments I am not certain what % of each distribution is return of capital until the end of the year when I get the statement from my broker. Through the year I could just enter the distributions into FM as general dividends and then when I find out from my broker exactly the amount of return of capital adjustment I could just input that number into FM. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

Hi moonlighter,

Thanks for the suggestion. If you wanted to make the adjustment from dividend to return of capital once at the end of the year, you could record a negative dividend and a positive Return of Capital on the same date for the same amount.
Thanks,
Mark

Didn't think of that, good idea. I went back and split each dividend record into dividend and return-of-capital records based on the statement from my broker. I'll use your idea next time, much easier and cleaner with same result. Thanks!
