Expected dividend yield error

Mark, I found that the Expected Dividend Yield ignores the dividend frequency. I have a stock that pays twice a year but the EDY calculated the last dividend as if it pays four times a year. The income record is set up showing it pays 2 times a year.

Hi rftanner,

This field does not read your "Payments Per Year" figure from the "Income" tab of your investment properties. As documented in the online help, it tries to figure out the frequency based on your recorded dividends, and if there are none or only one, then it defaults to quarterly. This field was created before there was an option to enter payments per year, so I believe we need to update it, so that this field will use the entered payments per year if you specify it. Thanks for pointing this out.

To see a report with your expected upcoming payments based off your recorded "Income" properties for the investments, see the "Income Schedule" report.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the explanation. That is exactly what happened to this one as only one dividend has been received so far.
