Editing Investment Properties

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

Mark,

A suggestion. Editing investment properties is very tedious. I've made a modification to my "Investment Goals" and created a new allocation formula. Now I've got to update the investment goal property for each (active) investment. I go to the symbol list and select the investment. Now I've got to click EDIT in the properties list, select the line I want to change, click CHANGE %, enter a number, and then click OK. Then I've got the same number of keystokes/mouse clicks to enter the new number. Very tedious. How about just presenting a grid to edit/fill-in and don't let it save unless it adds right? Alternatively, how about after I've clicked EDIT on the properties list, you add a button which says ERASE ALL EXISTING DATA. Then I can add the new data without having all the busywork erasing the old. Or is there a better way?

Hi Elliot,

Thanks for the feedback. This is something that I would like to improve. Editing the investment goal and asset type categories is not as efficient as it could be. It is geared towards allocating different percentages, but I believe the large majority of the time, most people put an investment 100% into a single category. There are several ways we could make this better, and plan to do so.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I suspect you are right -- I know for me most of the time it's 100% of one thing -- but there are occasions when it's nice to split it up. So please, when you do modify, don't take away the option to split.
