Running Version 10.9 and Version 11 Beta

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

If I open version 11 Beta first and work with the Monthly Performance Report, when I open version 10.9, I receive an error message and can not open any portfolios. From version 10.9, I can then restore a portfolio (I made backups of all portfolios prior to installing version 11 Beta). After the restore everything appears to work correctly in both versions 10.9 and 11 Beta.

I have version 10.9 installed in a folder named "Fund Manager" and version 11 Beta in a folder named "Fund Manager 11".

If for some reason, I decide to un-install version 11 Beta, how do I do that without affecting version 10.9? I went to Control Panel-->Program and Features in Windows 7 and found only one instance of Fund Manager.

Hi Ernest,

That error is most likely because you've saved your portfolio file with a report type that doesn't exist in 10.9. If you open up that portfolio file in 11, and close any non 10.x reports and graph types, and save it, you will then be able to open it again in 10.x.

If you want to remove 11 Beta only, you can just delete the folder where you've installed it. It isn't necessary to un-install. Both 10 and 11 use the registry for storing global preferences, which the uninstall program would erase.
Thanks,
Mark
