Mark - any plans down the road to add a property to Investments to indicate its S&P sector (Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Energy, Healthcare, etc.)?

Allocaton by size graph/report is nice but this would be even more helpful.

Hi gmsimon,

You can do this now by using one of the two categories: asset type or investment goal. You can customize the categories to be used for any purpose you want. You can then graph/report by these categories. See "Options / Category Labels..." to set up the names you want, and then set the allocations for each investment under "Investment Properties...".
Thanks,
Mark

Gmsimon, I had a similar requirement a while back and I found a solution that works well for me.

I use Asset Types to distinguish broad categories of investments: Large cap stocks, mid cap, small cap, domestic bonds, international bonds, etc.

I use Investment Goals to further define the security: Consumer staples, consumer discretionary, energy, financials, health care, etc.

This method meets my needs completely, for reports and graphs.

Sounds like a solution - thanks to both of you.

Hi there. This thread seems the closest to what I'm looking for.

I use the "Investment Goals" to align with my financial advisor's categories of investment goals of each investment.

I use the "Asset type" to track the geographic mix.

I would really like to see two more properties like this. I would use "new property 1" to track sectors as was mentioned earlier in this thread, and "new property 2" to track the breakdown between bonds, stocks, cash, etc that is held in mutual funds.

Could something like this be included?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the feedback. Currently, there are only the 2 sets of categories that you can use for any purpose. In the future we may consider adding more than these 2.
Thanks,
Mark
