One time retrival of data for same script in multiple folder

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

At present, I don't know the logic implemented to retrieve data for the same stock/symbol from same quote server when the same stock is in multiple sub-folder. I suggest to go for a single query to quote server and then copy it to respective sub-folder than requesting multiple times of the same stock quote.

Hi SHAREVJ,

This is how it works now. If you have multiple investments with the same symbol, that symbol is only requested once, and all investments with that same symbol are updated.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark,

I checked this and it does not update the way you are mentioning. In my case (for example), I have the same stock in two different sub-folders, let us say the symbol name is MICROSOFT, folder names are Intra-folder and Long-Folder, when I update the price of MICROSOFT in Intra-Folder using "Retrieve Selected Price", it is updating the price MICROSOFT only in Intra-Folder and not in Long-Folder. Is it anything to do with all symbols retrieval and selective retrieval?

Please advice

Hi SHAREVJ,

How are you updating exactly? If you are using one of the "Retrieve Selected Price" commands, then only the selected investments are updated. If you use the global toolbar button or "Edit / Internet Retrieve / Prices" command, all open investments are updated. Either way, if both of your Microsoft investments are included in the request to update, they will both be updated with a single retrieve. However, if you're only asking for 1 of them to be updated, only that 1 will be updated.
Thanks,
Mark
