transfer money between two accounts

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Sterling25 » Sun Nov 30, 2025 7:28 pm

When I sell a mutual fund in a brokerage account or high yield savings account, I would like to be able to pick the account I am going to transfer the money to, so the transaction appears in the account I transfer to automatically. Right now I can download the sale in the brokerage account, but I have to remember to buy the same amount in the checking account. Currently, I update the checking account manually. Any suggestions on how to automate the transfer process?

Hi Sterling25,

The short answer is no. You can pick a default cash account for any given sub-portfolio, so that all the money goes in/out of that cash account by default. However, you can't pick a different account for the proceeds to go to at the time of recording a sell transaction. If you sell in account 1, and then move the money to account 2, you really need to record both.
Thanks,
Mark
