Historical Prices

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

When I download prices at the end of the day. It takes very little time to complete the process. But if I want even one day of historical prices, it never seems to stop. I have about 340 issues to price. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

Hi Sterling25,

I'm assuming your end of day retrieve is using "Yahoo", but your historical retrieve is using "Yahoo (Historical)"? You can check under "Options / Internet Settings..." to see your default primary/historical quote servers. Yahoo is very fast, but unfortunately Yahoo (Historical) is quite slow now. If you need to retrieve historical prices often you might look into switching to a different historical quote server. We offer several very fast alternatives. See the details on other "Historical" servers here:

For example, Stooq (Historical) or Tiingo (Historical)... Any server with the name "(Historical)" in it will give you the ability to get historical prices. Thank you. I watched the video which was helpful. But I didn't see how I could change the default historical server. I went under options/internet settings/ and changed the default historical server. But when I went to retrieve historical prices, it still lists Yahoo historical. Is there a way to change the default historical server for all of my investments at once?

Hi Sterling25,

"Options / Internet Settings..." only sets the "default". Each investment's properties can choose to use the default or specify what quote server to use. See "Investment Properties... / Internet Retrieve". You can either adjust this on a per-investment basis, or you can apply settings to all investments by investment type (stock, fund, etc.) by going to:

Options / Internet Settings... / New Investment Defaults... / Apply Settings to Existing Investments...
