Stooq historical pricing service use

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Duncan » Wed Jan 24, 2024 11:40 am

I can get the stooq server to provide real-time price for gold using symbol GC.F. However the stooq server does not seem to work for historical pricing over a time period. It may be a format issue with how Fund Manager handles the returned file since there is no error raised, just no data. Anyone have any success with the stooq historical server?

Hi Duncan,

I see the same results with this symbol. It appears the Stooq site isn't making historical prices available for download on this particular symbol for some reason. For example, if you look at another symbol, like AA.US, you'll see a "Download data in csv file..." link at the bottom of the listing of historical prices. This isn't available for GC.F for some reason.

For Gold you can retrieve it from FondsCheck and FondsCheck (Historical) using the symbol 32119. See:

Hi Djobydjoba,

Thanks, I should have remembered that... I've updated the FAQ on Gold and Silver.
Thanks,
Mark
