Optional scaling pence to pounds for any symbols ending .L

Hi Mark,

The quote module 585 applies an "... optional scaling from pence to pounds for any symbols ending in .L when retrieving from Yahoo (Historical), (Adjusted Historical), (Alternate), (Options), or (Real-Time)".

Please could you explain how deactivating the optional scaling?

I am retrieving the historical prices for an .L (LSE) investment in USD from Yahoo (Historical) and the historical data are wrongly scaled by 100 (screenshot attached).

Hi Alex,

You can override this behavior by adding a registry value at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\Internet Retr

where you add a string value named yahoo_uk and set it to a value of 1.

This will also affect the Yahoo UK & Ireland quote server, but it appears you're not using that...

Hi Mark,

I am using Yahoo - Italy as default quote server and I have no issue with daily quote that is correctly in USD.

I am using Yahoo (Historical) as Default Historical Quote Server and it is when retrieving historical prices for a .L investment in USD that the prices are scaled USD/100.

So in principle I should override scaling for Yahoo (Historical).

The instructions I gave above will override the scaling for Yahoo (Historical) when the symbol has an extension of .L.

Issue solved.

For reference, having a portable installalion I have added the key yahoo_uk=1 in the file fmprefs.txt under the section [Internet Retr].
