upcoming changes to Schwab data files

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby advizer » Thu Jul 07, 2022 2:14 pm

Mark,
Schwab put out a notice that they will soon be retiring five "classic" file types, but "all of the data included in these retiring files can be found in existing, updated file types that are already available through your Schwab Data Delivery feed."

Here is the memo: www.schwab.com/public/file/P-13040716

My question is, will this affect the way that FM imports price and transaction data? I have the FM advisor version. For imports, I simply direct FM to the place where I have all Schwab Data Delivery files, and it finds the correct files. Not sure which file versions are being imported; never had a reason to think about it.

Thanks

Hi advizer,

No, this change shouldn’t impact anything with Fund Manager, which already supports the newer “core” data files as described here:

Thanks,

OMG. When I worked for Schwab in the 80s and 90s my team was responsible for the old format data files. I tried to replace them back in the day. Finally!!!
