Native CCY of investments change when changing CCY templates

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby ANNEAU » Wed Jul 21, 2021 10:47 pm

Hi all,

We are having an issue wherein we run various native currency portfolios with multiple investments in multiple currencies (3-4 various CCY in 1 SUB portfolio).

However, we noticed that when we select a new currency template, this is changing the native currency of some investments (.e.g. a EUR investment now appears as USD or CAD ; whichever native CCY is selected in the CCY template or some investments display as the previous ).

Thanks for sharing your light on how to fix this.

Sincerely,
Amit

Hi Amit,

I suspect your other currency templates are changing the labels of some of the currencies in positions 2-25. Look at the documentation here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/hel ... rency.html

Notice how in the pictures of the different currency templates, none of the labels for Currency 2 - 25 change between each template. You can change the exchange rates and the default currency, but not 2-25 labels. Investment's remember their "position", like "Currency 2" for example, and they will always be "Currency 2", so if you change the label of "Currency 2", that investment's currency label will change.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you Mark for your kind and prompt assistance.

Sorry for the delayed response as we have been busy with the migration. This was really helpful and has solved the problem.

The issue we are now facing is that the client(s) from mobile access can ONLY view their positions in the native CCY we are using and not in the CCY of their sub-portfolio.

When we change the CCY template, all clients' mobile access reports their positions in that CCY.

Kindly please advise how we can fix this.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Amit Bakhirta

Hi Amit,

When uploading your client's positions, the state of "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted" affects whether positions are uploaded in the native currency or the default currency. So, just set that option the way you want before uploading positions.
Thanks,
Mark

Dear Mark,

When uploading our statements on the Advisor portal, the below error message is showing up:
Upload Error - Exceeded Client Quota (129 > 100)

Can you please kindly advise?

With many thanks in advance
