Morningstart BE - Quote update fails

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby VFP9Belgium » Wed Jul 08, 2020 11:35 pm

FM: 2020.16.4.100
Quote Module: 552
Transaction module: 239

For a few days now the symbol/server combinations failed to update for three funds (see attachment) via the Morningstar BE site.
I did some investigation and noticed that the three funds display two quotes: 'bid' and 'offer'.
The other funds in the portfolio still show one quote and they are updated as in the past.
How can I solve this issue?
Thanks
Regards
Alan

Hi Alan,

Yes, I see the same issue. The site isn't showing a "price" for these for some reason. We could take an average of the bid/ask, but it would be best if they offered a last price. It sounds like this is a recent change. Without the last price being available there isn't much we can do. Is it possible to find these quotes on a different server? Maybe Morningstar will correct this in the near future, but we don't have an insight into this.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark

An average of bid/ask will not do. I followed your suggestion and changed the price source for these funds to 'Morningstar Funds'. That works :D
The funny part is that years ago that source stopped working for (some) Luxembourg funds and was the reason to introduce Morningstar BE...

As always, thanks for your promt help.

To whom it concerns.

In my Fri Jul 10 reply I was to hasty; it appears that Morning Funds is not the solution.
After some trial and error I found that the Financial Times provides also pricing for these funds.
That works fine.
