Generic transaction import

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby flight » Sat Nov 23, 2019 6:07 pm

Mark,

I'm attempting to do a generic transaction import using this format, SYMB TRAN MM/DD/YY ANUM BNUM CNUM.

The problem I'm running into is some of my symbols have a space in between them such as "MSFT OPTION".

Can you advise or recommend what I should do?

thank

Hi flight,

You should use a character for separating the fields that you wouldn't be using in your data. For example, a comma or tab character. If you change your data fields to be separated by a comma, the format string would then look like:

SYMB,TRAN,MM/DD/YY,ANUM,BNUM,CNUM

and then you can have a space character in the SYMB field.
Thanks,
Mark
