Hi Dan,

It looks like you might have the same investment file in multiple sub-portfolios. You can verify by checking the filename of each of those 2 investments, and seeing if they are the same, or different. One way to check the filename is under "Investment Properties... / Statistics".

When you own the same security in different accounts, you want to create a different investment file for each account holding that investment. This way, you can record separate transactions in that investment for each account. You don't want to just place a 2nd copy of the same investment file in the other portfolio. For more on this, see this:

Hi Dan,

I wasn't suggesting those investments are in any other accounts. I'm suggesting that both of those investments are the same *.dat investment file. Did you look at the "Investment Properties... / Statistics" page for both of those investments, and compare the *.dat filenames?

You can have the same investment file open in multiple locations. It looks like you have the same investment file (*.dat) open in both the "AlphaArchitect" and "Interactive Brokers" sub-portfolios. For example, they are both the file VMOT.dat. Instead, one should be VMOT.dat, and the other a different file like VMOT_1.dat, so that you can have separate transactions in each location.
Thanks,
Mark
