Problem with retrieving prices from AMFI

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Hi,

I am a new to Fund Manager. Have got most of my portfolio set up but am still struggling with downloading prices for my Indian mutual funds. I've got the right six digit numerical code for them set as the symbol and have set the investments to retrieve from the AMFI server but it's not working for some reason. I get the following error.

WARNING - Unable to update: "112090"
WARNING: Server used but did not update any prices: (AMFI)

Any inputs on what I am doing wrong?

Hi shashlu,

I see the same problem. It looks like we may need to provide a quote module update to fix this. We will investigate, and I'll post back here once we learn more.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for the prompt response. I also did some digging. Looks like www.morningstar.in carries all the MFs I want to track. And in fact they also carry the NAVs of a ULIP (unit linked insurance plan) or insurance fund that I have invested in.

If it's relatively easy for you to add morningstar.in then that may kill two birds with one stone.

Hi shashlu,

The quote module has been updated. Version 528 is available by selecting "Help / Fund Manager on the Web / Check for Updates..." from within Fund Manager. This update fixes the "Association of Mutual Funds in India" quote server.

We took a look at morningstar.in but the effort to implement it were not minor, so we've held off for now. Hopefully you can find quotes for all the items you need on some of our other quote servers.

Hi,

Thanks. It's working now. BTW - when I check the logs - it seems to be downloading a whole bunch of prices from AMFI though it only updates the ones I own. I presume that is the way it is set up to work.

Yes, that is how this server works. It is a bit unusual.
