Scrip dividend

Hi PBarreda,
If these new shares are of the same type as the company that issued them, just record a reinvested distribution of type dividend. In that dialog, check the "Reinvested" button, and you can enter shares/price as well as the dividend value.
I'm afraid it doesn't work. In our tax system (Spain), the shares received in an scrip have the same adquisition date that the shares owned that gave right to the scrip. For example:
I mean 1.000 shares adquired in 31/12/2010, and 2.000 shares adquired in 31/12/2011. With an scrip dividend given in 30/04/2017, I'm given 30 new shares. For tax operations, 10 of those shares have date 31/10/10, while the other 20, are date 31/12/2001. With a FIFO system of tax, if now I sell 1.515 shares, the adquisition date of those shars sold are: 1000 shares adquired in 31/12/2010 10 shares from the 30/04/2017, but with tax date 31/12/2010 500 shares adquired in 31/12/2011 5 shares from the 30/04/2017, but with tax date 31/12/2011 It's something similar a transfer between, when the program "remembers" when the shares were adquired. Can Fundmanager handle this kind of tax calculations? Thank you very much for your help
Hi PBarreda,
You can record these transactions using the "Transfer In" transaction. However, it won't work with the FIFO calculation the way you're describing. The FIFO method uses the transfer in date for determining when the shares came in, not the tax basis date. One option would be to use the Specific Lot method instead. You would have to just specify the shares in the order you want. It is more work, but at least is an option that would work.
