bug in the latest price download module

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby mogul456 » Thu May 18, 2017 5:39 pm

I just updated to the new 516 and still have the problem. Is it possible to go back to 514 which i know I have noticed problems with spits and dividends but it at least returned the price and volume correctly?

Hi Tom Lee,

Can you check to see if you have cookies enabled in IE?

Start up Internet Explorer and make sure you have cookies enabled. See "Tools / Internet Options... / Privacy".

Hi mogul456,

514 stopped working, thus we released 515. What version of FM do you have? Do you have cookies enabled in IE?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I'm still seeing the same problem with the attempts to retrieve Historical Prices using 2014.13.8. I'm using the new quote module 516 and transaction module 223. I'm using quote server Yahoo (Historical). I'm requesting date range 5/15/17 - 5/18/17. I have options set to use "Windows Settings" for proxy. FSTVX & TIP are two of the 8 symbols for which I'm requesting prices. The complete log is as follows:
-------------------------------------
Retrieve Starting
Quote Module Version = 516
Retrieving from server: (YAHOO-HISTORICAL)
Requested Historical Retrieve Dates: 5/15/2017 - 5/18/2017
Requesting: ... snip
Could not update any investments
WARNING: Server used but did not update any prices: (YAHOO-HISTORICAL)
------------------------------------

Seems like something else must be going on that we haven't figure out yet. If you're using the latest version and have cookies enabled, and are not able to retrieve, please email us the following log files:

intlog.txt, intlog2.txt, intlog3.txt

all of which will be in the hidden folder:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager

Please send the log files right after a retrieve from only one of the Yahoo historical servers. Doing a right mouse click on a single investment, and choosing "Retrieve Selected Historical Prices" is a good way to do this.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I checked my IE option and the cookies option is enabled. It appears that only Yahoo historical) is having the problem. I use Google (mutual fund historical) and it works fine. Thanks.

Hi Tom Lee,

Could you try retrieving one investment from Yahoo (Historical), and afterwards send me those intlog*.txt log files I mentioned in the prior post?
Thanks,
Mark

Yahoo Server not updating quotes - here's a single retrieve:

Retrieve Starting
Quote Module Version = 516
Retrieving from server: (YAHOO-HISTORICAL)
Requested Historical Retrieve Dates: 5/10/2017 - 5/19/2017
Requesting: "DLPH"
Could not update any investments
WARNING: Server used but did not update any prices: (YAHOO-HISTORICAL)

All Yahoo quote servers show "working"

If Yahoo (Historical) is not working for you, can you please try an experiment. Please go here:

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/IBM/history

and right mouse click on the "Download Data" link and copy that, and paste it back into an email to me, or paste it back here on this forum. It should look something like this:

https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/fin ... 6f2OtxUABC
Thanks,

Hi mogul456,

You can't click on the link I sent. From this page for you:

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/IBM/history

please let me know the target of where the "Download Data" link is going? To find this, you can right mouse click on the "Download Data" link, and it will be something like "Copy link address" or "Copy shortcut", depending on your web browser. Once you copy the link, paste it back into a post or email to us.
Thanks,
Mark

We have just released 517 to hopefully finally fix this issue for everyone. Please use "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." to obtain the 517 quote module.
Thanks,
Mark

It appears to work for price and volume. Mark - can you tell us if you plan to fix the dividend and splits issues , they stopped working about a year ago when Yahoo changed and haven't worked since.

Hi mogul456,

The dividends and splits work with Yahoo (Historical), but require you to be using Fund Manager 2016.
Thanks,
Mark
